Personalized Web Settings using JAWS

Today Internet has become a necessity for carrying out day-to-day activities easily and quickly, from buying a product to cooking a particular recipe. Performing these activities using the Internet saves a lot of resources, time, and offers a wide range of options to choose from.
Internet is also an important tool for people with visual impairment, who use Assistive Technologies such as screen readers and screen magnifiers for browsing the Internet. By using Assistive Technology, people with visual impairment can shop online, carry out their banking activities, communicate with their friends and learn via the Internet.
JAWS - the leading screen reader provides remarkable support for browsing the Internet. Internet Explorer (IE) is the widely used Web browser by JAWS users. IE supports keyboard functionality, which is very essential for screen reader users, who use keyboard for working with the Internet.
By using JAWS with Internet Explorer 6, you can perform different activities from surfing the net to filling up online forms. You can also access different HTML elements including text, links, headings, form fields and images.
Are you tired of adjusting your settings for reading information every time you open a Web page? Do you wish you could do some magic and save the settings? We'll we may not teach you magic but there sure is another way of saving your Web settings.
JAWS 5.0 enables you to save your settings for a particular Web page. The changes made to your settings in the Personalized Settings for dialog box are automatically saved. When the user visits the Web page JAWS implements the saved settings for reading the information.
The personalized Web settings apply to all Web pages under the domain and sub-domain for which changes are saved. Personalized Web settings are stored in the enu folder with .psi file extension.

To open the Personalized Web settings dialog box for a Website, press Shift + Insert + V.
